Movie: Open myomectomy using ovarian clamps (triple tourniquets)

Triple tourniquets to occlude the uterine blood supply during surgery is a very effective means of reducing intra-operative blood loss. We have adapted this old technique by developing specially designed ovarian artery clamps (to occlude the ovarian arteries) and a cable-tie (to occlude the uterine arteries). Using the ovarian artery clamps means that blood flow to the ovaries is preserved during surgery without damaging the fallopian tubes.
